WHAT KIND OF A FRIEND IS BRITAIN TO NIGERIA?

Common sense definition of a friend is someone who likes and respects you, someone who shares common interests, norms, and values with you, someone who listens to your suggestions, someone

who protects you from harm's way, and someone who is always there for you when you are in need of help.

Without shadow of a doubt, Radio Biafra under the aegis of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is a violent criminal terrorist organisation, whose sole aim is to destabilise and destroy Nigeria. The fact that the organisation is headed by a selfish, ill informed, semi-illiterate, deranged moron, is besides the point. The aim and objectives of the organisation is what matters.

The thought that Britain, as a supposedly friendly nation, allowed this violent terrorist organisation to use London as a base to broadcast treacherous verminous material with the intent of causing hatred and unrest in Nigeria is totally unacceptable. Imagine what the reaction will be in the UK, if the Nigerian authorities were to allow the IRA to broadcast anti-British treacherous material from Abuja!

Britain has been friends with Nigeria since colonial days. This friendship has remained intact until today. The two countries enjoy the highest level of diplomatic missions. There are over 3 million people of Nigerian origins living permanently in the UK. There are thousands of British companies doing lucrative business in Nigeria. Britain is one of the largest trading partner to Nigeria, by import and export. To whom much is given, much is expected from.

Let common sense prevail. An embarrassing mistake has been made, but it is not too late to correct this mistake. The honourable action to take under the current circumstance is for the British government to immediately shut down the terrorists pirate Radio Biafra. This Radio station is not in Britain's best national interest.

May God save Nigeria and Nigerians. Amen.
